Vineyards and Schists of Douro

Douro is a well-known wine region located in north of Portugal along the Douro River, wide world known by its famous wines. The high temperatures in Douro Valley region, its soils rich in schist and the art and technics of winemakers create the special and exquisite Douro and Port  Wines.

Specially in paintings of Douro vineyards thematics Milla uses the traditional eastern techniques to perform paintings in a western styles furthermores strongly marked by her backgroungs and cultural roots; the results are innovative art works, exposing the perfect symbiosis between the oriental conceptual painting and the photographic detail of modern western styles.

Materials: "chinese inks" applied over "xuanzhi" paper, commonly known as rice paper.

Technique: traditional eastern brush painting.
