EASTERN PAINTINGS

Traditional asian paintings in a minimalist and conceptual sumie technique and style. Each brush stroke is unique and made in a continuous movement. Once a brush stroke is drawn on the rice paper becomes irreversible, barely retouchable and impossible either to be hidden erased any more.

High precision and control of brushes, ink and water. The sumie technique is inherited from traditional chinese calligraphy which is a basic request to reach high level patterns in this rigorous style.

Materials: "China-inks" applied on rice paper ("xuanzhi" paper).
